Drishya means "what is seen," and ganit means "calculation." A Drishya Ganit panchang is one whose word you can check with your own eyes. When it says the Moon rests in a nakshatra, that is where you will find her in the night sky. When it gives the moment of an eclipse, the new moon or the full moon, the heavens keep that appointment.
Our panchang follows this principle. It calculates the positions of the Sun, the Moon and the planets with modern astronomy, based on the publicly available JPL planetary ephemeris (this site is not affiliated with or endorsed by NASA or JPL), so that every tithi, nakshatra and festival day agrees with the sky itself.
Traditional Vakya panchangams, handed down with great care over many centuries, use their own time-honoured method. So now and then a date here may differ from a Vakya panchangam by a day. In every such case, please follow the practice of your family or temple.
About
Ahobila Mutt Thirunakshatram
The Sri Ahobila Mutt is one of the great Sri Vaishnava mutts of South India. Tradition holds that it began around 1398 at Ahobilam, in the hills of present-day Andhra Pradesh, where Lord Lakshmi Nrisimha Himself initiated the young scholar Srinivasacharya into sannyasa as Srivan Satakopa Swami, the first Jeeyar of the Mutt.
The Jeeyars of the Mutt are lovingly called Azhagiyasingar, "the beautiful lion," after the Lord of Ahobilam. Each Azhagiyasingar worships the Mutt's own deity, Sri Malola Nrisimha, and carries Him from place to place on sancharam, teaching Visishtadvaita and the Sri Vaishnava way of life. The line has continued without a break for more than six centuries; the present Azhagiyasingar is the 46th, Srivan Satakopa Sri Ranganatha Yatindra Mahadesikan.
The Mutt remembers every Azhagiyasingar on his Thirunakshatram, the day of his star in the Tamil month of his birth, with special worship, recitation of the Divya Prabandham and offerings at the Mutt and its branches.
The list below gives every Azhagiyasingar Thirunakshatram this year for your city, month by month.
"I bow to the line of our Acharyas, which begins with Lakshminatha, Lord Sriman Narayana, has Sriman Nathamuni and Sri Yamunacharya in its middle, and reaches down to our own Acharya."

"I worship the great teacher Sri Satakopa Yati, vessel of the grace of Kesavarya and an ocean of wisdom, self-mastery and every virtue. I take refuge in Satakopa Muni, the home of flawless virtues and the refuge of those who fear the round of births."
Taniyan of Srivan Satakopa Swami (Adivan Satakopa Yatindra Mahadesikan), founder and 1st Azhagiyasingar (text as printed in the Sri Ahobila Mutt's Sri Sannidhi Thaniyans)
