Periyalwar Thirunakshatram 2027: July 12, Mount Vernon

Periyalwar, named Vishnuchittar, served the Lord of Srivilliputhur by making flower garlands. At the court of the Pandya king in Madurai he established that Sriman Narayana is the Supreme, and the prize purse bent down to him by itself.

When the Lord appeared on Garuda to bless him, he feared that harm might come to Him and sang Thiruppallandu, wishing Him long life. He was the foster father of Andal, and his verses on the child Krishna are much loved.
