பேயாழ்வார் · Aippasi, Sathayam
Pey Alwar, the third of the Mudhal Alwars, appeared in a red lily in a well at Mylapore. He was called Pey, one possessed, because of his intense love for the Lord.
In the light of the two lamps lit by Poigai and Bhoothath Alwars at Thirukkovalur, he saw the Lord together with Sri Mahalakshmi and sang Moondram Thiruvandhadhi, beginning with the words Thirukkanden. He later guided Thirumazhisai Alwar.
