இராமானுசர் · Chithirai, Thiruvathirai
Ramanuja lived, by tradition, from 1017 to 1137 CE. Born at Sriperumbudur, he became a sannyasi at Kanchipuram and later led the tradition at Srirangam as the successor of Yamunacharya.
He wrote the Sri Bhashya on the Brahma Sutras and gave the Visishtadvaita teaching its full form. At Thirukkoshtiyur he climbed the temple tower and taught the sacred mantra to all who gathered, wishing everyone to be saved even at a cost to himself. He also set the order of worship in many temples.
