திருப்பாணாழ்வார் · कार्तिकई, रोहिणी
Thiruppaan Alwar was a minstrel of the Panar community at Uraiyur who sang of Sri Ranganatha from the banks of the Kaveri, keeping humbly away from the temple. At the Lord's command, the priest Loka Saranga Muni carried him on his shoulders into the sanctum, so he is called Muni Vahanar.
Standing before the Lord he sang Amalanadhipiran, ten verses describing the Lord from His feet to His face, and then merged into Sri Ranganatha.
