Born in 1879, he took sannyasa in 1929 and was installed as Azhagiyasingar in 1941. The patashala he started has grown into an educational centre for the Vedas, Tamil Prabandham, Agama, a Sanskrit college and a high school.
He started the publication of the Sri Nrisimha Priya magazine and the tradition of regular Vidvad Sadas, and the Mutt records that all of today's Sri Vaishnava vidvans owe their scholarship to him in one way or another.
