Māsa Kālāṣṭamī Dates 2026

Masa Kalashtami (or Masika Kalashtami) falls on the eighth day (Ashtami) of the waning (Krishna) Paksha each month. It is dedicated to Lord Kalabhairava, the fierce manifestation of Shiva who is the guardian of time. Observing this fast is believed to remove fear, grant protection, and bestow strength. Kalabhairava Jayanti in Amanta Kartika (Purnimanta Margashirsha) is the most important day, but the monthly observance is equally meritorious.
