Aavahan, Puja and Visarjan of Jyeshtha Lakshmi (Jyestha Gowri), for your city
Jyeṣṭhā Lakṣmī Vratam (Jyeṣṭhā Gaurī Pūjā) observed in Bhādrapada Śukla Pakṣa, close to Gaṇeśa Caturthī: a three-day vrata: Āvāhana on Anurādhā Nakṣatra, Pūjā on Jyeṣṭhā Nakṣatra, and Visarjana on Mūla Nakṣatra. Jyeṣṭhā Nakṣatra's closeness to Bhādrapada Śukla Aṣṭamī anchors the sequence: the Pūjā day rests on whichever of the two carries more weight in a given year, and the flanking days simply follow it.
Rooted in a Purāṇic account: women oppressed by asuras took refuge in Śrī Mahālakṣmī Gaurī. She slew the asuras on Bhādrapada Śukla Aṣṭamī, restoring the well-being of their husbands and of all beings, recalled still in the vrata's central prayer for Akhaṇḍa Saubhāgya and prosperity.
