A brahmin of Sirkazhi who served at the shrine of the Thoniappar and trained many young people in temple service: tending gardens, gathering flowers, making garlands and carrying water for the bath.

He also worshipped Thirugnana Sambandar. At the end of his life he reached Kailasa and was made a leader of Shiva's ganas.
