A king of the Velir line ruling from Kodumbalur. A devotee who fed Shiva's devotees ran out of means and took paddy from the royal granary by night, and was caught.

Hearing the reason, the king honoured him instead, and threw open his granaries for all devotees to take what they needed. He ruled in Shiva's service and attained His feet.
