The chief of Manamerkudi and chief minister of the Pandya king Ninrasir Nedumaran. He honoured every devotee of Shiva whatever their birth.
When the king and the land had turned to Jainism, he stayed firm in Shaiva faith and, with Queen Mangayarkarasi, invited Thirugnana Sambandar to Madurai, which brought the kingdom back to Shiva.
