A chieftain of the Munaiyar line of Thirumunaipadi who protected temple wealth as his own life. On each Thiruvathirai day he gave every devotee a hundred gold coins with a meal.
Once a devotee came whose appearance made others shun him; Narasinga Munaiyaraiyar honoured him and gave him double. He also raised the young Sundarar as his own son, and reached Shiva's feet.
