The chief of Perumizhalai, who served Shiva's devotees and held Sundarar as his guru, meditating on him constantly. Through this devotion he gained the yogic powers.

Learning that Sundarar would leave for Kailasa the next day, he did not wish to remain without him, and by yoga left his body the day before to reach Shiva's feet first.
