An Adi Shaiva priest of Seruvilipputhur who worshipped Shiva by the Agama rules. During a famine, weak with hunger, he let the water pot fall on the Linga as he bathed it, and fainted.

Shiva appeared in his dream and promised a gold coin each day until the famine ended. He found the coin at the altar every day and continued his worship.
