A brahmin of Thiruninravur who wished to build a temple for Shiva but had no means. So he built it in his mind, stone by stone, and fixed a day for its consecration.

On that same day the Pallava king had fixed the consecration of his great stone temple at Kanchi. Shiva told the king in a dream that He would be at Pusalar's temple that day, and the king went to see Pusalar and bowed to him.
