Siruthonda Nayanar Guru Puja 2027: May 6, Mount Vernon

Paranjothi of Thiruchengattankudi was the Pallava army commander who conquered Vatapi. He then gave up war and fed a devotee every day.

Shiva came as a Bhairava ascetic and asked for a meal cooked from the flesh of an only son. He and his wife offered their son Seeraladevan, and when the guest asked them to call their son to eat, the boy came running alive, and Shiva blessed the family.
