திருநீலகண்ட நாயனார் · थई, विशाखा
A potter of Thillai who made begging bowls for Shiva's devotees. After a fault of his youth, his wife made him swear by "Thiruneelakantam" never to touch her, and the couple kept that vow into old age.
Shiva came as a yogi, left a bowl in his care and made it vanish, then asked him to bathe holding his wife's hand. Honouring the vow, they held a stick between them and bathed, and rose from the water young again.
