A brahmin of Sathamangai who worshipped Shiva daily by the Agama rules. Once, when a spider fell on the Linga, his wife blew it away and her breath touched the Linga; he was angered and left her.

That night Shiva showed him in a dream that His body was blistered everywhere except where she had blown. Neelanakkar later hosted Sambandar and Thiruneelakanta Yazhpanar, and attained Shiva with Sambandar at Nallur Perumanam.
