ਆਂਡਵਨ ਆਸ਼ਰਮ ਤਿਰੁਨਕਸ਼ਤ੍ਰ 2025

The Srirangam Srimad Andavan Ashramam is one of the great Sri Vaishnava Ashramams of the Vadakalai tradition, devoted for more than three centuries to the teachings of Sri Ramanuja and Swami Vedanta Desika. Its head is called the Andavan, a name the tradition holds was given by Lord Ranganatha Himself to the first Acharya.

The Ashramam follows the Munitraya Sampradaya, the line of the three Munis: Sri Nathamuni, Sri Yamunamuni and Sri Ramanuja. Thirukkudanthai Desikan (Sri Gopalarya Mahadesikan, born 1700) revived this tradition and was honoured as Munitraya Sampradaya Pravartakar. From him the line passes to the twelve Andavans, beginning with Srimad Vazhuthur Andavan. The present Andavan, the twelfth, is Srimad Andavan Srivaraha Mahadesikan, since 2018.

The Ashramam remembers each Acharya on his Thirunakshatram, the day of his birth star in the Tamil month of his birth. The list above gives every one of them this year for your city.
