Koodaravalli 2020

Koodaravalli (Kūḍāravalli / கூடாரவல்லி) is observed on the 27th day of Margazhi (Dhanurmasa) in the Srivaishnava tradition. It corresponds to the 27th of the thirty Tiruppavai pasurams composed by Andal, recited daily through the month.

The pasuram begins "Kūḍārai vellum sīr Gōvindā..." (கூடாரை வெல்லும் சீர் கோவிந்தா...), "O Govinda of glory who conquers the unyielding..." -- and it is this opening phrase that gives the day its popular name, Koodaravalli.
