Bhadrapada Bahula Tadiya: Gowri worship with undrallu
Undrallu Tadde (ఉండ్రాళ్ళ తద్ది) falls on Bhadrapada Bahula Tadiya, the third day of the dark fortnight of Bhadrapada, a few days after Vinayaka Chavithi.
The day takes its name from undrallu, small steamed dumplings of rice flour, the same sweet loved by Vinayaka. Women and girls keep the fast, swing and play in the morning, and in the evening worship Gowri Devi. Undrallu are offered to her and given as vayanam to married women, with turmeric, kumkum and flowers.
Married women pray for their husbands' long life and the family's welfare, and girls for a good marriage, in the same spirit as Atla Tadde a month later.
