The day Uttarā Phalgunī Nakṣatra prevails in Panguni Māsa, your city-r bābē
Paṅguni Uttiram, also known as Lakṣmī Jayantī, is celebrated when the Uttara Phalgunī Nakṣatra prevails during Paṅguni Māsa, the Tamil solar month coinciding with the Sun's transit through Mīna (Pisces) rāśi, typically mid-March through mid-April.
The day carries significance across several traditions. In Vaiṣṇava tradition it is observed as Lakṣmī Jayantī, commemorating Goddess Lakṣmī's appearance. In Tamil Śaiva and Murugan temple tradition, it is celebrated as a celestial wedding day: of Śiva and Pārvatī, and of Lord Murugan (Skanda) with Deivanai and, in some regional traditions, Valli. Some traditions also observe it as the anniversary of Śrī Rāma and Sītā's wedding.
Paṅguni Uttiram Nirṇaya, like most pañcāṅga determinations, has been interpreted somewhat differently across sampradāyas and regional traditions over the centuries. Please follow the convention observed by your own family or tradition where it differs from what is shown here.
