Munitraya Sampradāya
Śrī Jayantī is the Munitraya Sampradāya's observance of the birth of Lord Kṛṣṇa, determined by a rule distinct from the more widely followed Smārta and Vaiṣṇava (ISKCON) Janmāṣṭamī calculations. Rather than anchoring to the lunar Bhādrapada month alone, Śrī Jayantī additionally requires the Sun to be in sidereal Siṃha (Leo) at the time: a solar (Saura) condition layered on top of the lunar Kṛṣṇa Pakṣa Aṣṭamī tithi and Rohiṇī nakṣatra.
