Vāmana Jayantī 2019

Vāmana Jayantī, also known as Vāmana Dvādaśī, commemorates the incarnation of Lord Viṣṇu as Vāmana, observed in Bhādrapada Śukla Pakṣa.

The date is decided by which day Dvādaśī holds Madhyāhna Kāla (midday: the middle fifth of the day's own daylight span) and whether Śravaṇa Nakṣatra combines with Dvādaśī or the preceding Ekādaśī. When neither tithi combines with Śravaṇa at all, the day is decided by Madhyāhna coverage alone.

Vāmana Jayantī Nirṇaya, like most pañcāṅga determinations, has been interpreted somewhat differently across sampradāyas over the centuries. Please follow the convention observed by your own family or tradition where it differs from what is shown here.
