About
Viṭṭhalanāthjī Prākaṭyotsava
Viṭṭhalanāthjī Prākaṭyotsava commemorates the appearance day of Shri Viṭṭhalanāthjī (also known as Gosāiṃjī), the second son of Shri Vallabhācārya, observed on Mārgaśīrṣa Kṛṣṇa Navamī in the Puṣṭimārga (Vallabha Sampradāya).
Viṭṭhalanāthjī is revered within the Puṣṭimārga as the organizer of its daily sevā tradition for Śrīnāthjī, having established the Aṣṭa-Chāp, the eight principal poet-devotees whose compositions form the core of Puṣṭimārgīya kīrtan sevā. His appearance day is observed with special sevā, bhog, and kīrtan at Puṣṭimārga havelīs and temples.
