About

Vitthalnathji Prakatyotsav

Vitthalnathji Prakatyotsav commemorates the appearance day of Shri Vitthalnathji (also known as Gosainji), the second son of Shri Vallabhacharya, observed on Margashirsha Krishna Navami in the Pushtimarg (Vallabha Sampradaya).

Vitthalnathji is revered within the Pushtimarg as the organizer of its daily seva tradition for Shrinathji, having established the Ashta-Chap, the eight principal poet-devotees whose compositions form the core of Pushtimargiya kirtan seva. His appearance day is observed with special seva, bhog, and kirtan at Pushtimarg havelis and temples.
