Every Vaiṣṇava Āḻvār Tirunakṣatram this year, your city-r bābē
The Āḻvārs (Azhwars) were twelve Vaiṣṇava poet-saints of South India, revered for their devotional hymns to Viṣṇu collected in the Nālāyira Divya Prabandham. Each Āḻvār's Tirunakṣatram (the day their own birth-star (nakṣatra) recurs each year, while the Sun occupies a specific rāśi) is observed as their sacred remembrance day. A separate section below also lists several later Vaiṣṇava Ācāryas honored the same way, who are not themselves among the 12 Āḻvārs.
Like most pañcāṅga determinations, some of these dates have been interpreted somewhat differently across sampradāyas and regional traditions. Please follow the convention observed by your own family or tradition where it differs from what is shown here.
